Common questions

How do I convert an Indian percentage to a US 4.0 GPA?

Divide your percentage by 100 and multiply by 4 for the common linear method. A 78% becomes roughly a 3.12 GPA. Many US universities use WES, which grades course by course, so treat this as an estimate.

How is CGPA out of 10 converted to percentage?

Most Indian universities multiply the 10-point CGPA by 9.5, so an 8.2 CGPA is about 77.9%. Always check the conversion printed on your own transcript first.

What UK classification do I need for a masters?

Most UK masters ask for a 2:1, which is usually 60-65% on Indian marking at a recognised university. A 2:2 (around 55%) still opens plenty of options.

Is this conversion accepted by universities?

No conversion tool is official. Universities and credential evaluators such as WES or ECE make the final call. Use this to plan your shortlist, then confirm with each university.
